Our little Selah Faith has entered hospice care. We hold strong knowing that God's plan is above any medical prognosis. God has been preparing and providing for this family every step of the way. Until this point when anyone asked how to help, the response has always been, "just pray." Now this family is asking you for the one thing they will cherish forever: time. With the current prognosis Jacob is opting to leave his temporary teaching position and spend every minute possible with Selah as a family. Your donations will help pay for basic needs and give them this precious time with their little girl.

Who is Selah:
Hello, currently, our daughter Selah has been in the hospital for 243 days. Today is 4-24-23 as I am writing this. Selah was born with a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome on 2-3-22. Basically what this means is that she has half of a heart. The left ventricle on her heart did not develop. As a result of this condition she had hydrops on her heart and lungs when she was born. This was fluid that caused massive inflammation in her body. As a result she cannot breathe on her own. She is on a ventilator 24 hours a day to help her breathe. Back on August 28th 2022 Selah had the Norwood surgery in which they reconstructed her heart. Selah needs 2 more surgeries throughout her life which is usually done around now.
Selah’s medical issues:
Unfortunately they did some tests on Selah and we recently found out that she does not qualify for her live saving surgery. Her vein that goes from her lung to her heart has completely stopped working and narrowed. The doctors said it has disintegrated. The doctors also said her lung tissue has gotten worse. Selah is also on dialysis for about 12 hours everyday for the last 90 days and we are also worried that she has permanent kidney failure.
Baby has limited time left in this world:
All this to say the doctors have told us that Selah is NOT going to live much longer. It is predicted that there will be 1 month to 1 year left of life. Jake (Selah’s dad) works full time and needs to provide for the family. Dad wants to be around full time for the family but having to worry about finances and feeding the family is dad’s first priority above anything else. If you are able to provide anything that would be very helpful. The family needs $3,000 to $4,000 per month to be able to make it. $3,000 would barely make it but $4,000 would make us completely worry free. Every parent should be there for their child when that child is living out their last days but that is not entirely possible for Dad to do if he has to keep working.
What your funds will help with:
If you help support this family your funds will go to food, gas, car insurance, phone, utilities, and other basic bills. This family will not waste your money on a vacation or some other useless item as the focus of our family right now is to just stay at the hospital for 12 hours a day every single day until Selah passes away. We want to spend as much time as possible and show her all the love she deserves.
Dad works a lot:
Many days have gone by where dad has left home at 6:30 in the morning and has gotten back to the hospital at 8:30 at night. At that time of the day dad is tired and would usually visit Selah for just 15 to 30 minutes so that I can also go home and see my older daughter and wife as well. Dad no longer wants to live this lifestyle while Selah has a limited amount of time left.
If a lot of people donate a little bit that will go a long way:
If enough people donate, dad will take off of work completely. If we get some funds then dad will just work part time and no longer work full time which would also help a lot. If 600 people gave $5 a month that would give this family the minimum $3,000 per month needed. If 300 people gave $10 a month that would also help out with the minimum $3,000 per month needed. If 150 people gave $20 a month that would also help bring in the minimum $3,000 per month. If 100 people gave $30 a month that would also help us reach out minimum goal of $3,000 a month. You do not have to give a whole lot, we just need a lot of people to give a little bit. Most people can afford an extra $5,$10,$20, or $30 a month.

We will also provide regular updates and you can follow us on YouTube to follow Selah’s journey. I want you, the donation person, to be sure that if you give to this beautiful family your money will not be wasted as there is nothing for us to waste the money on. Our only priority is to spend as much time as possible with Selah in the little time we have left with her.
